What is a Giving Party?

Giving Parties are a special way for kids to come together and contribute to our local community. At these events, children bring money they have saved from their piggy banks and learn firsthand how their contributions can make a big difference. Here's how it works: during each party, two nonprofits are selected from the children’s nominations. The child who nominated each nonprofit will introduce it, and then a representative from the nonprofit will present how the kids can support their cause. After both presentations, the kids vote on which nonprofit they want to support. The nonprofit with the most votes will receive 75% of the total donation, while the other will receive 25%. After the voting, we celebrate with a dance party and maybe even some sweet treats!

 

How Much Should Each Child Contribute?

It’s all about what each child is able to give. We suggest a $25 donation per child, with an option for a parent match. If you can’t manage that amount, that’s perfectly okay! Everyone is welcome to participate, and any amount you can give is appreciated. Our focus is on encouraging every child’s involvement in giving, regardless of the amount.

How Long Do Giving Parties Last

and How Often Are They Held?

Each Giving Party lasts about one hour and takes place three times a year.

As a Parent, Should I Stay for the Party?

Yes, parents are welcome and encouraged to stay—you'll love the party too! And children under the age of 14 must be accompanied by an adult.
